Coding Crew
“Each One Teach One”
Coding Crew is a peer-led computer science program where students learn to teach coding to other students. Educators can be trained to facilitate these workshops in one hour, with no prior coding experience needed. Through this low-barrier-to-entry model, the program expands access to computer science education, particularly benefiting underserved communities and encouraging more girls to explore coding.
Students learn through hands-on activities and movement-based games that make abstract coding concepts tangible before moving to computers. As they take turns being teachers, students develop confidence and communication skills alongside their coding abilities. Educators receive comprehensive support throughout the program, making it comfortable to guide learning in this new domain.
